Albert Einstein: Biography
Albert Einstein was one of the most influential scientists of the 20th century. He was born in Germany on March 14, 1879. He showed an early interest in mathematics and physics, and he taught himself calculus at the age of 12.
Einstein studied physics at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich, where he graduated in 1900. He worked as a patent clerk in Bern, where he developed his revolutionary theories of relativity. In 1905, he published four papers that changed the course of physics. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 for his explanation of the photoelectric effect.
Einstein moved to the United States in 1933, where he became a professor at Princeton University. He contributed to the development of the atomic bomb, but he also advocated for peace and human rights. He died in Princeton on April 18, 1955.
